The Alvamar Golf Club (Jayhawk and Quail Creek nines) is open to the public. Noted architect, Bob Dunning, designed a course characterized by large scale greens, tees, and flowing fairways, very much in the spirit of the famous Robert Trent Jones. This "parkland" style course has found favor over the years for its combination of playability, yet challenge for golfers of all ability levels. Selecting the appropriate length to play the course can increase the golfer's enjoyment. Four sets of tees provide courses ranging from 4,700 to nearly 7,100 yards. Bring a full set of clubs, as you will most likely use them all.

The Alvamar Country Club (Sunflower and Hidden Valley nines) is a private club open to members and guests only. Hidden Valley, the back nine, was built in 1973 with Bob Dunning's guidance and Mel Anderson's final touches. Sunflower, designed by Mel Anderson and tour player Phil Rogers was built in 1978. The architectural style is notably different from Jayhawk and Quail Creek as the naturally wooded, steeply sloped, Eastern Kansas terrain dictated more of a target-oriented venue. Smaller, more undulating greens will greet the players that have successfully navigated the narrow fairway corridors and evaded the multitude of water hazards. At 6829 yards from the blue tees, Alvamar Country Club is one of the most difficult courses in the state of Kansas.
