The official date of the organization of Cummaquid Golf Club of Yarmouth and Barnstable was August 17, 1895.

This course has many tight, tree-lined fairways on the back nine, and with many out-of-bounds stakes lining the fairways. The front nine has some elevated greens of which many are small greens and all holes are well bunkered. The fairways vary in undulation.
