Lakewinds Golf Course was purchased in 1982 by the city of Alexander City. Lakewinds is tucked away in a small valley within sight of Lake Martin on the Tallapoosa River. Many positive changes have taken place during the last 25 years. Some include fairway and green rehabilitation, computerized irrigation, and paved cart paths. Our old style course has rounded greens that require accurate short iron approach shots. The par 70 layout has small greens that are in proportion to the course length of just over 5500 yards. Three water hazards protect many of our fairways requiring accurate tee shots. A variety of animal and plant life gives you a feeling of being as one with nature.
