Just south of Houston is Magnolia Creek Golf Club. This 27-hole facility was designed by Thomas E. Clark and consists of three nines: Ireland, Scotland, and England. Ireland and Scotland opened in November 2000, and England is scheduled to follow in June of 2001. When complete, all three courses will be playable in a variety of 18-hole combinations. The course is designed in the traditional links-style, and the fairways meander through rolling hills and sand dunes. The fairways are surrounded by native grasses and dotted with pot bunkers. True to the links design, tee boxes are rectangular and the greens are hard and very fast. There is a 22-acre practice facility on the property as well.
