This private golf club is one of three in the City of Vancouver. It is located adjacent to the north arm of the Fraser River. The course was built on about eighty-nine acres. Its tight fairways are lined with mature trees, and the greens are strategically bunkered. The course is known for quick play, with rounds over four hours being rare. More than twenty-five percent of the members have a 10 handicap or less. Known as "The Club of Champions," greats such as Byron Nelson, Gary Player, Annika Sorenstam, Moe Norman, and Michael Campbell, as well as many sports and entertainment figures, have played Marine Drive. Many members of the club have won or been in the top 10 of tournaments such as the USPGA, B.C. Open, and the B.C. Amateur. "The Globe & Mail" magazine rated Marine Drive as the 5th best course in Canada. "Score Magazine" rated it in its top 50, and in a survey rating Canada's toughest holes, #17 ranked 9th.
