Martinsville Golf Club's original 9-hole course was opened in 1925 by Walter A. Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy owned two mineral springs in Martinsville and he wanted a place for his guests to play golf. A farm located just north of Martinsville was the perfect spot. Mr. Kennedy hired Bill Diddle to design and build what is today the back nine. A second nine hole was built in 1970.

Although hundreds of trees have been planted and many upgrades have occurred, the course remains virtually unchanged since it was built. The course's rolling terrain, classical design and natural beauty make it a favorite destination for golfers all over central Indiana.

This hilly course has tree-lined fairways and small greens. Water hazards (a creek and a pond) come into play on six holes.
