This course is representative of the hilly terrain throughout Illinois. The course plays longer than it looks and has small greens and open tree-lined fairways. There are three dogleg fairways, but the most severe is on hole #4, a 618-yard, par 5. This hole requires a shot over a stream, another through the trees, and an approach shot over water to the green. The course has a pond that can come into play on hole #5.
