Rockleigh offers a comfortable and roomy triple course of 264 acres at the base of the Palisades western slope in Bergen County's "Northern Valley". In 1957 Alfred H. Tull laid out the original 18 hole course (Red and White) over the rolling pastures of 18th Century Dutch farms. This first public golf course in Bergen County opened on April 1st, 1959. Then in 1964, Robert Trent Jones added the complementary nine (Blue). Re-designed by Robert McNeil of The Northeast Golf Company, improvements include all new tees with increased yardage, reworked bunkering, as well as new greens at White No. 5 and Red No. 4. Improvements also include drainage and an impressive new cart-path system.

This club has twenty-seven holes that are played in two separate course arrangements. The Red/White Course is an eighteen hole layout and the nine hole Blue Course is usually played twice for an eighteen hole round. The Red/White combination has numerous trees and sand bunkers that come into play. The Blue Course is known for its fast greens and narrow fairways. Water hazards come into play consistently during a round.
